Moderation before the video:
Lord Of The Lost are traveling for Germany to the Eurovision Song Contest in Great Britain. The metal band from St. Pauli convinced most of the TV watcher in the preliminary round with their flashy outfits and hard guitar riffs. By the way, yesterday also these two here (a clip from the day before is displayed) - King Charles and Camilla. The band was allowed to play at the reception in Hamburg. And of course, there were also handshakes - definitely an unforgettable experience. Yes, rock musicians in particular often have the cliché that, let's say, they don't live quite so healthily. But Lord Of The Lost prove the opposite! We visited the singer in Hamburg:
(Video starts)
Moderation: Chris Harms runs very relaxed through the Wandsbeker wood. The singer of the band Lord Of The Lost from Hamburg is in great demand at the moment due to his win in the preliminary round of the ESC and is constantly on the go. He only slept for an hour last night, but he's fit.
Chris: I don't smoke, I don't drink, well never, don't do drugs and I actually try to exercise every day on tour, also with the guys from the band. That's something that keeps us fit and I think that's also important for our success. We wouldn't have gotten this far, if we were completely screwed, to put it bluntly. We keep fit and that's important.
Moderation: On March 3rd, Lord Of The Lost prevailed over the competition due to the strong audience response. With their pink (it’s a mistake, those are red and golden) outfits, colorful make-up and, of course, the hard sound of their music, they won, which was surprising for the singer.
Chris: I think it actually took me a while, I only realized a few days later what we were actually doing here. So that we really go to this song contest, that you saw on TV as a kid, because that's exactly what it is and not something else. It took me a while to get there. So that you really understand it like this, here (point to his head) and here (point to his heart).
Moderation: By the way, the hard rockers are very nice guys. Chris visits his parents regularly when he is in Hamburg. The family chats over coffee and cake. Harm's parents have long been committed to their son's musical education. Even as a little boy, Chris not only liked to play the cello.
Marion Krogman: He always liked to sing, he always sang with me. We sang lullabies in bed, we sang during the day, we walked through the garden and hopped and sang - so that was music for him.
Moderation: Even if the step from classical music to a metal band was huge, Marion and Knut Krogmann regularly go to Chris' concerts. The two are always the first to watch and rate a new video by the band. The 43-year-old records their reactions and, with his parents' permission, posts them online as reaction videos.
Marion Krogman: Extraordinary (laughs), no, it's great!
Knut Krogmann: Highly artistic!
Marion Krogmann: Yes!
Knut Krogmann: Admirable.
Moderation: Not only do his parents like the music, they also love the whole band.
Marion Krogman: We really have been there from the beginning and are always welcome. And not only from Christian - that's our son, no, it's like that, the whole band - I always say that's our boys. Because I feel welcome there too.
Chris: That's why they always say "Attention, friends, the mother of all of us is coming".
Moderation: Because of a sheltered childhood, Chris Harms has remained down to earth. The family dad and his band placed the last 3 albums in the top ten, with the current one even reaching number 1. Thousands of fans are going to Lord Of The Lost even in China and South America. Despite everything, Chris Harms remains reserved with thinking of the ESC.
Chris: The big goal to be at least last, I think that's realistic. But the main feeling is actually that we just want to enjoy it because it's a once in a lifetime experience. Only a few do it more often and we just want to enjoy it.
Moderation: On May 13, Lord Of The Lost will be playing for Germany in Liverpool. And if Chris Harms is not busy with performances until then, he will probably prepare with sports.
